What it is
You open the game in the browser, take a seat at a table and play other people, one against one or two against two. Matches move your ranking points, the leaderboard shows who plays best, and the practice room is there for the shots you want to work on.
Why we made it
We made CueMasters out of love for Carom3D, the online pool game Neoact ran from 1999 to 2013. When it closed, nothing took its place for us, so we built our own: the feel of a real table and a lobby full of tables, made new. CueMasters is our own game and has no ties to Neoact.
How the physics works
Every shot is calculated from the moment the tip meets the cue ball until the last ball stops: how the balls slide and then roll on the cloth, how spin bends their path and how they bounce off each other and the cushions. The pockets follow the WPA's equipment specification, and the snooker table has the WPBSA's full size.
The same calculation runs on our server and in every browser, so a replay ends exactly where the match did.
Fair play
The match server checks every shot before it counts, with the same physics for everyone and nothing left to hidden chance. Wins over throwaway accounts earn no points, and our team looks into matches that do not look right.
